Charles & I are big fans of hiking. Exercising in the great outdoors is one of our favorite things to do together, and we also love that it allows us to explore new areas. We recently came across Mine Hill Preserve in Roxbury, Connecticut. (Thanks, Google!) Mine Hill Preserve is the site of a 19th century iron-making complex that is now on the National Register of Historic Places – and it’s AWESOME. One of the best spots for hiking in Connecticut.
Between the well-preserved mine elements – including the old furnaces and mining shafts – and the beautifully groomed trails, Mine Hill Preserve is an excellent spot for a day of fun in the great outdoors.
Even the pups had a blast exploring Mine Hill Preserve! Have you done any memorable hikes in Connecticut? If so, what are your faves?
